Under Texas Education Code §25.001 (b) (1), a student is entitled to admission to a school if the student and any of their parents reside in the OGISD school district. Additionally, under TEC §25.001 (c) The board of trustees or its designee shall establish minimum proof of residency acceptable to the district.
As per OGISD Board Policy (FD Local) In accordance with administrative regulations, the parent, guardian, or other person having lawful control of the student under order of a court shall present proof of residency. The District may investigate stated residency as necessary.
Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, ALL OGISD students will be required to provide proof of residency each year during the registration process.
Students who do not reside in our district, but are interested in enrolling are subject to Non-Resident Transfer Requirements.
