2023-24 Pre-Kindergarten Student Registration

Welcome to the Orange Grove Independent School District. Our school district is now enrolling students for pre-kindergarten for the upcoming 2023-24 school year following the enrollment process below.

 

Please note that a child can qualify for free Pre-K in the state of Texas for the upcoming school year by meeting at least one of the following eligibility requirements. If your child meets at least one of these seven eligibility requirements, please properly complete and submit the 2023-24 Pre-K Qualification Application located below with the required supporting documentation via email to the Orange Grove Primary School to Mrs. Lyn Perez, OG Primary School Principal, at [email protected]  or to Mrs. Veronica DeLosSantos, OG Primary School Secretary, at [email protected]. Please note that such application and corresponding verification can also be delivered in person at the Orange Grove Primary School located at 205 Dahme Ave, Orange Grove, Texas 78372.

 

  • Educationally-disadvantaged (Meets income limits consistent to the National Free or Reduced-Price Lunch Program that go into effect on July 1, 2023).
  • Unable to speak and comprehend the English language. Student must be tested and qualify as limited English proficient.
  • Homeless, as defined by 42 USC, §11434a, regardless of the residence of the child, of either parent of the child, or of the child's guardian or other person having lawful control of the child.
  • Child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserved component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority.
  • Child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty.
  • Child who is or has ever been in the conservatorship (foster care) of the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) following an adversary hearing held as provided by the Family Code §262.201.
  • Child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award as: a peace officer under Texas Government Code §3106.002, a firefighter under Texas Government Code §3106.003, or an emergency medical first responder under Texas Government Code §3106.004.

 

*If a child meets at least one of the Pre-K eligibility requirements noted above based on the submitted 2023-24 Pre-K Qualification Application, a representative of the Orange Grove Primary School will contact the child's parent/guardian to discuss the registration process that will need to be completed to officially enroll the child for the upcoming 2023-24 school year.

 

*If a child doesn't meet at least one of the Pre-K eligibility requirements noted above based on the submitted 2023-24 Pre-K Qualification Application, a representative of the Orange Grove Primary School will contact the child's parent/guardian to the discuss the possibility of enrolling in the school district as a Paid Pre-K student for the upcoming 2023-24 school year.

 

*If a parent/guardian knows beforehand that a child doesn't meet any of the above-noted eligibility requirements, the parent/guardian can contact the Orange Grove Primary School at 1-361-384-2316 at extension 1200 to inquire about enrolling the child as a Paid Pre-K student in the school district for the upcoming 2023-24 school year. Please note that the Orange Grove Independent School District accepts out-of-district Paid Pre-K transfer students if enrollment numbers permit.
